Distributes more than 1,800 bags of food.

Assists 5,538 Rhea County residents.

The We Care Food Pantry was the first program of its kind in Rhea County, created to provide food for families and individuals — whether for emergency situations or on a long-term basis.

We Care is getting closer to its goal of ending hunger in Rhea County. In 2012, alone, we provided 22,771 bags containing 285 tons of food to our hungry neighbors.

However, we couldn't do this work alone. We rely on the support of partners like the Emergency Food and Shelter Program, the USDA food program and the Chattanooga Food Bank — as well as individual and corporate donors like WalMartBi-Lo, local scout troops and churches. We are neighbors helping neighbors, and we rely on community support to continue and expand our footprint of good.

A Christmas tree was donated to the Food Pantry so that all the kids that come into the store would have a tree to enjoy.  For some of them it may be the only one they see.  We hope everyone enjoys it.  Thank you and Merry Christmas!

We are also now taking unwrapped toy donations for the less fortunate in our community.  Please stop by and donate if you can.  Lets give these kids a present for Christmas.  This community has always been so generous and we thank you for it.
